Russ Schwertner - Senior Managing Director – Market Intelligence Operations

Prior to joining Priority Power in 2020, Russell served as Vice President of Asset Operations at MP2 Energy (MP2). MP2, an industry-leading electricity and services platform company, sold to Shell Energy North America in 2017. Russell spent the previous 10+ years at MP2, where he led MP2’s Asset Management business overseeing Power Plant Management, Demand Response, and Real-time and Emergency Operations.

Russell began his energy career at the Lower Colorado River Authority as a generation and transmission operator prior to ERCOT deregulation. Russell then joined ERCOT in 1999 to help ERCOT Operations transition to Single Control Area with various roles in real-time operations and outage coordination through the next decade. Russell gained extensive knowledge over the last 25 years in Energy Markets, Asset Management, Infrastructure, Generation, and Load Resource Operations, which provided extensive knowledge on all sides of the energy market. Russell is a certified ERCOT System Operator and NERC Reliability Coordinator.
